"In an incredibly competitive atmosphere, plagued by self-doubt, each student's passion will be put to the test. • BRUNO MARTELLI
  The school's talented pianist and songwriter. The voice of reason and sanity. A quiet and sensitive soul, Bruno is loyal to his friends and family, and tries hard to do the right thing by everyone. He is the one who most people go to with their problems. Doris in particular has cried on his shoulder on numerous occasions. He also was one of the first people to befriend Troy Phillips, who called him his best friend.

• DORIS SCHWARTZ
  Doris grew up in Jackson Heights and went to school there before she started at the School of the Arts. She said herself that when she was at school there she was just "Dumpy Doris". It was only when she came to the School of the Arts that she was able to realise that she had special talents all of her own - she could sing and she could act.

• DANNY AMATULLO
  Aside from Leroy, Danny was the only original kid from Fame left in the last series. Unlike Leroy, he never graduated! Thus, when he was asked by Bruno in Baby Remember My Name "Aren't you ever gonna graduate?" there was more than a chuckle from Fame fans! Went through a hard time when he found out his childhood best friend was gay. Danny never had much luck with women, although not for the want of trying! He at various times dated Doris, Jillian and Reggie

• COCO HERNANDEZ
  In the words of Coco Hernandez in Coco Returns "I sing, I dance, I act.....I do it all." She does indeed, and does it very well too.

• LEROY JOHNSON
  Leroy had a very rough childhood, and he lives in a small appartment.References have been made in the series to how Leroy danced himself out of the ghetto.
  Leroy is a very strong stubborn individual, which led to several run-ins with other people like this, notably Coco and Miss Grant. He ended up having romantic inerludes with both these women, Coco in Coco Returns and Miss Grant in Such Good Friends when Tina decided to play matchmaker.

• CHRIS DONLON
  Love him or hate him, there's no way you can ignore him! Chris was a singer, a dancer and an actor, although he needed Leroy's help in classical dancing to avoid spending a year with the "shuffling buffalos"! He didn't quite make it and ended up spending a term there. Chris had quite an eye for the ladies, and the ladies had quite an eye for him too!

  Nicole Chapman was one of the most talented students to come into the School of the Arts. Not only was she beautiful and a talented singer, dancer and actress, she also had brains, as she proved in Spontaneous Combustion when she wowed Morloch, and shocked her classmates with the correct definition of the phenomenon.
